As a self-employed handyman, Rien Stas was asked to hang art in the early 1990s. He delved into the existing picture hanging systems and quickly came to the conclusion that he could do it better himself...

In 1995, Rien, together with his brother André, founded STAS picture hanging systems. Rien focuses on development and André takes over the general management of the company. The range is growing rapidly and the innovations in the field of picture hanging systems clearly meet a need in the market because they have been a resounding success from the start! STAS innovates based on the philosophy: a suitable solution for every situation.

During the international inventors fair in Geneva (Salon International des Inventions), STAS won the gold medal for the SmartSpring hanging hook.

In 2001, the important predicate 'Good Industrial Design' was awarded to the STAS cobra in Amsterdam.
